Driffield Navigation Conservation Management Plan and Ecology Study
On behalf of the Driffield Navigation Trust, Black & Veatch Ltd is undertaking studies to support the development of a Conservation Management Plan (CMP) for the Driffield navigation. The CMP is being developed to support a Heritage Lottery Fund application for a 10 year plan of improvement and maintenance works along the Driffield navigation. The main focus of the studies is on the effects (positive and negative) of the proposed works on the navigation’s ecology, but we are also considering the landscape, archaeological, recreational and cultural heritage aspects of the site. The study area encompasses the Driffield navigation from the Riverhead in Driffield downstream to the junction with the River Hull at Struncheon Lock.
We are currently collecting information to help us identify conservation management policies for the Driffield navigation, and the measures required to manage the effects of the improvement and maintenance works. Therefore, we are inviting comments on the proposed Driffield navigation improvement and maintenance works and advice on possible long term management policies.
Please use either our contact form or a different format to send any comments to: Michael Robinson, Black & Veatch, 2nd Floor, Minerva House, E29 East Parade, Leeds, LS1 5PS. Direct dial tel.: 0113 2206 310
