welcome to new members ... how to get started

Welcome! - Please don't be shy!

New members are encouraged to introduce themselves to everyone else by posting a new forum topic in the who's who forum.

If you don't know what to write about consider these :

  • The whole point of this website is to help people with shared interests share their interests!
  • It's helpful all round to know something about 'where you are coming from'.
  • What is your interest in the Driffield Navigation?
  • Are you affiliated any group or club that has a direct or indirect link to the Driffield Navigation (eg local boat clubs, angling clubs, etc) ?
  • Do you (or did you) live nearby? or do you live near a comparable waterway?
  • Which (Driffield Navigation related) activities are you most interested in?

That should give you plenty to talk about! So now please follow this process - it is very simple and forgiving, and it will help you through the basics of participating in the website:

  1. Make sure you are logged in
  2. From the user menu (top left) click 'create content' and then click 'forum topic' from the menu that appears underneath it.
  3. A good format for your title is "your Username" : " a brief sentence describing your angle on the driffeld navigation - think keywords!"
  4. Click on the 'who's who' category in the selection box beneath the title  (it should become highlighted).
  5. Type the rest of your introduction into the 'body' field.
  6. Then click 'preview' to make sure everything looks right.
  7. And finally 'submit'. and that's it!
  8. You can keep track of replies to your topic by following the instructions here.
